Leak Detection in Fort Worth — Find It Before You Cut Anything

Slab leaks, hidden wall leaks, yard leaks, mystery water bills. Electronic detection that pinpoints the leak before any demolition.

About This Service

A water bill that suddenly doubled. A damp spot on the carpet that won't dry. The sound of running water when nothing's on. These are leaks you can't see — and the worst thing you can do is start cutting drywall guessing where it is. We use electronic leak detection (acoustic listening, pressure testing, thermal imaging, line tracing) to pinpoint the leak's actual location before any repair work begins. That alone saves more money than the diagnostic costs.

What We Do

Leak Detection — what's included.

Slab leak detection

Acoustic listening and pressure testing to find hot or cold water leaks inside or under concrete slab foundations.

Behind-the-wall leak detection

Hidden leaks inside walls — pinhole copper, failed PEX fittings, condensation lines. We find them without tearing up your house.

Yard / supply line leak detection

When your water bill says you're losing water but nothing's wet inside. Line tracing locates underground supply line leaks.

Pool and irrigation leak detection

Pool plumbing leaks, irrigation system leaks, sprinkler line cracks.

Gas leak detection

Electronic gas detection and soap testing for natural gas leaks. Safety first — we don't guess on gas.

Water meter testing

We can pressure-test your supply system to confirm there's actually a leak (and how big) before chasing it.

Thermal imaging

Infrared cameras help locate hot-water-line leaks under slabs by showing temperature gradients.

Sewer line leak/break locating

Camera inspection with surface marking so the repair is targeted.

Why Paloma

What sets us apart on this service.

We find it before we fix it

Our standard process: detect, pinpoint, then quote the repair. No exploratory demolition.

Multiple detection methods

Acoustic, pressure, infrared, line tracing, dye testing — different leaks need different methods. We use whatever the job actually requires.

Honest about insurance documentation

Most Texas homeowners policies cover the damage from hidden leaks even when they don't cover the pipe repair. We document properly so you have a clean claim.

Honest Pricing

$99 diagnostic. Waived when you book the work.

We come out, diagnose the actual problem, and give you a clear written bid before any work starts. If you accept the bid, the $99 fee goes away. If you don't, it covers our trip — no obligation, no high-pressure pitch.

Past 40 miles from our Fort Worth shop, the diagnostic fee is $120 (same "waived if booked" policy).

FAQ

Leak Detection questions.

How do I know if I have a hidden leak?
Common signs: water bill suddenly higher than usual, sound of running water when nothing's on, warm or damp spots on the floor, mildew smells, cracks in the slab or walls, low water pressure throughout the house, water meter spinning when no fixtures are running. Any one of these warrants a leak detection visit.
How accurate is electronic leak detection?
Within a few feet on most slab leaks — close enough to do a targeted repair rather than an exploratory tear-out. Behind-the-wall leaks are usually pinpointed to the specific stud bay. The accuracy depends on the leak's size, the pipe material, and ambient conditions.
Can I find a leak myself?
Sometimes. If you can clearly see or hear it, you don't need us. But hidden leaks in slabs, walls, or yards usually require specialty equipment to locate without destructive testing.
Do you do gas leak detection?
Yes — electronic detection paired with soap testing. If you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas utility first (Atmos in most of DFW). Once they've isolated and confirmed, we can find and repair the line.
How much does leak detection cost?
We charge a $99 diagnostic that covers the detection visit. If we identify the leak and you book the repair with us, the $99 is waived. If you'd rather take the report and call your insurance or another contractor, the $99 covers our time.
