Backflow Testing & Certification in Fort Worth

Annual testing required by Texas code for many properties. We're certified, the test takes 20 minutes, and we file the paperwork with your water utility.

About This Service

Backflow prevention assemblies keep contaminated water from your irrigation system, fire suppression system, or pool from flowing backward into the public water supply. Texas requires annual testing for many properties — and if you've gotten a letter from your water utility saying your backflow assembly needs testing, that's what they mean. We're certified testers, the test takes 20 minutes, and we file the certification with your utility so you stay compliant.

What We Do

Backflow Testing — what's included.

Annual residential backflow testing

Required for properties with irrigation systems in most Tarrant County cities. We test, certify, and file.

Commercial backflow testing

Required for restaurants, medical facilities, fire suppression systems, and many other commercial properties — usually annually.

Irrigation system backflow assembly testing

PVB (pressure vacuum breaker), DCVA (double check valve assembly), or RPZ (reduced pressure zone) — we test all common assembly types.

Backflow assembly repair

When an assembly fails the test, we repair or replace failed check valves, relief valves, and seals.

Backflow assembly installation

New backflow installations for irrigation systems, fire suppression, pools, or commercial connections.

Certification filing with the water utility

After a passing test, we file the certification with your city water utility so the compliance is on record.

Cross-connection control consulting

For commercial properties with complex water systems, we advise on cross-connection risks and required assemblies.

FAQ

Backflow Testing questions.

Why did I get a letter from the water utility about backflow testing?
Most Tarrant County cities require annual testing for properties with irrigation systems, pools, fire suppression, or other cross-connections. The letter is the city's annual reminder. Failing to test can result in fines or water service shut-off.
How long does a backflow test take?
20–30 minutes on most residential assemblies. Commercial systems with multiple assemblies take longer.
What happens if my assembly fails the test?
We diagnose what failed (typically a check valve or relief valve seal), give you a quote for repair, and re-test after the fix. Most repairs are straightforward.
Do I need a backflow assembly if I have a sprinkler system?
In most DFW cities, yes — it's required by code. The assembly is usually installed at the time the irrigation system goes in. If your system doesn't have one, that's a code violation we can fix.
Are you certified to test backflow assemblies?
Yes. Backflow testing requires individual TCEQ certification. We have certified testers on staff.
